Update: March 28th' 2012

Update: It's funny how we can live life to the full without even knowing it; to be exactly where we're supposed to be/doing what we're meant to be doing without being conscious of it. And time doesn't stop; life doesn't stop. The world keeps moving. And before we know it, years go by.

For Fay and me, it's been 3 years and 5 months since we met; 1 year and 3 months since moving to Noda, and for our kids--it'll be Kenji's 2nd year of Elementary, and Deryk's 1st year. Man, how time flies.

Our boys are not little anymore. Their bodies have grown as have their attitudes.

Stricken with influenza

Mommy has a migraine, and Kenji has influenza B, so it's just me and Deryk at the park today. We're on quarantine, and even my company won't have me until Kenji's better. So I have the week off, and it's a weird feeling. It's the 1st time I've had this much time to myself in over a year.

Update: March 10' 2012

Our days and weeks consist of awakening in the morning and pushing ourselves out the door on time--7:45 being the deadline. Kenji and Deryk go to school, and Fay and I go to work. Fay heads back and picks the kids up and makes it home by around 5:30, and my average day has me home at about 8.
Then the weekend rolls around, and if one of us isn't pulling a work-shift on Saturday, it's pretty much spent catching up on lost sleep, paperwork, our kids' bad habits, and planning for the following week. Sunday is usually an outdoor day, more active and fun. It's our "family day" so to speak.

In about a month Kenji will be entering his 2nd year of Elementary, and Deryk will be graduating from Pre-School and going into his 1st year of school. Naturally this comes with a bit of apprehension. With age comes experience. With experience comes knowledge. With knowledge often comes apprehensions. That's why they say that simplicity is bliss.

Life has dealt me a lethal blow in the health dept. once again, depriving me of some of life's most valuable pleasures--the joy of seeing happy children amidst stinky farm animals.
